Holistic Psychotherapy

Dedicated to the freedom to explore and express the authentic self.

About Holistic Psychotherapy

We all develop ways of coping with life's challenges. When something works, we repeat it, and over time it becomes a habit. Sometimes, however, the very habits that once helped us begin to work against us, leaving us feeling trapped by addiction, unsatisfying relationships, or self-limiting beliefs.

Therapy offers an opportunity to step back from these habits, understand how they developed, and begin responding in new ways. Together, we create a safe, respectful space where you can explore your experiences honestly, without judgment or pressure to conform to familiar roles.

We have a natural capacity for healing. Just as the body repairs physical injuries, the mind naturally moves toward balance and wholeness. Beneath life's struggles lies a quieter state of calm, connection, and belonging. Healing means a return to that state.

I provide holistic psychotherapy for adults and teens coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, life stressors, addiction, codependency, and adult-child issues.

My Approach to Psychotherapy

My approach is grounded in present-moment awareness and genuine human relationship. My style is relaxed and conversational. Together, we bring awareness, curiosity, openness, and respect to your inner experience. You can then begin to recognize the beliefs, habits, and relational patterns that have shaped your life—and understand why they developed. With that understanding, old coping strategies gradually loosen their hold, emotions become a source of information and guidance rather than something to fear and bury. The changes that begin in therapy naturally extend into everyday life.

Therapy unfolds gradually at a pace that feels both safe and effective. Our work is collaborative: I offer guidance and structure while respecting your unique experience and the pace that feels right for you.

About Jonathan Chisholm, LMHC

My interest in psychotherapy grew from my own experience with growth and healing. As I worked through longstanding challenges, I discovered a sense of freedom and peace that I had not previously known. That experience inspired me to dedicate my life to this healing art.

It is a privilege to watch that same freedom emerge in my clients. Watching someone gradually rediscover greater ease and connection is among the most meaningful aspects of this work.

I hold a Master's degree from Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, and have been in clinical practice since 2001. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. I take several local insurance plans (listed below)

I offer in-person therapy in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and online therapy for clients in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

Getting Started

Complete the contact form with your name, phone number, email address, and a brief description of what brings you to therapy.

We'll then schedule a brief phone conversation to discuss your needs, answer your questions, and determine whether we're a good fit.

If we decide to work together, I'll send you the intake forms to complete before our first appointment. This way we can focus on you rather than paperwork.

I look forward to hearing from you.
